  STATISTICS was formed by Yutaka de Takakubo (Key. & Vo. : Sorry, his personal WEB site is written in only Japanese), Takuya von Kamiyama(G. & Vo., Nickname : KAMITAKU, : Sorry my personal WEB Site is written in only Japanese), and other 3 members in 1983. All the 5 members were the student of the Faculty of Business and Commerce, Keio University, Japan. We named our band from the course of lecture STATISTICS. As we had to study so hard to graduate Keio Universty, we could not have a enough time to play our songs. So, At the same time as we graduated, STATISTICS once disappeared.

  But as we never wanted to give up to continue our band "STATISTICS", Yutaka de Takakubo and I (Takuya von Kamiyama) decided to form "STATISTICS" again consists of 2 members in 1989, and restart our band activity in 1990. We, STATISTICS, release the debut album CD "So Painful...Sentimental Season" (in Japanese, "Setsunakute...Sentimental Season"). You can download and test our songs here(Free! Click!).

  We, STATISTICS, persuit (or, want to be) the POP and Cacthy Progresseive Hard Rock Band in Japan. Though STATISTICS belongs to so called "Heavy Metal" Category, our songs is never so hard to listen and is easy to enjoy for the listners who dislike to heavy one. So, not only Rock fans, but also J-POP (Japanese POPs) fans can enjoy our sentimental love songs. In days that we formed STATISTICS in 1980s, we wanted to be like Japanese great J-POP band Off Course (Unofficial, and Sorry, Japanese Only). "Off Course" was belong to Soft Rock, or so called "AOR (Adult Oriented Rock). This is the roots of our (STATISTICS's) J-POP Style songs. And talking about another band, we wanted to be like ASIA. This is the roots of our (STATISTICS's) Progressive Rock Style songs. Progressive Rock is one of the category of Rock Music, and was born in UK in 1960s-1970s. The example of the famous Progresseive Rock band in UK are Yes, EL&P (Emerson, Lake, and Palmer), CAMEL. For us, STATISTICS, The Progressive Rock way is the way to mix the Classical Music and Rock. Because both Yutaka and I had enjoyed Classical Music from childhood, Classical Music is one of the most favorate category of music for us.

  In early 1990s, I (Takuya von Kamiyama) suddenly noticed that Har Rock has the same characteristics as Classical Music. So, we, "STATISTICS" changed to be Hard Rock/Heavy Metal (HR/HM), and Progressieve band. After 1990s, STATISTICS have wanted to be like Deep Purple, Rainbow (unofficial), and Whitesnake in UK, Helloween in Germany, Bon Jovi, Journey in USA, ANGRA in Brasil, and X Japan (Sorry, Japanese Only). But we, STATISTICS, never want to play music that is too hard for ordinary J-POP (Japanese POPS) fans to listen. That's why STATISTICS's music style is "Soft" Progressive Hard Rock.
